Farm-to-Table Around Khao Yai: Where the Produce Actually Comes From
By The Villa Team· 10 September 2026· 4 min read
"Farm to table" is a phrase every restaurant in the hills now uses. These five are the ones where we could confirm, from the venue's own words, that the farm and the kitchen share an address — plus what they publish about hours, prices and booking, which is the part that decides your day.
VinCotto by GranMonte
The restaurant inside the GranMonte vineyard in Pak Chong. The estate's own description: a menu built on "homemade creations and freshest hand-selected ingredients from the vineyard and local Khao Yai farms". The published menu backs it up with estate produce — home-grown organic kale, fresh grapes in the salads, Khao Yai burrata and mozzarella.
- Published price bands: starters 360–780 baht, soups 220–280, pasta 360–480, pizza 320–480, mains 520–590, steaks from 560.
- Pair it with the estate tour — weekdays 10:00, 11:30, 13:30, 15:00, 16:00; weekends and holidays from 09:00 — at 690 baht per adult.
- Opening hours are not published; the restaurant line is 092-806-7744.
- About 78 km from the villa, roughly 1 h 10 – 1 h 20 by car.
The Great Hornbill Grill, PB Valley
The restaurant at the region's largest wine estate, with a wood-fired oven and the estate's own orchards — dragon fruit, passion fruit, mango, melon, and table grapes grown year-round — in view. This is the most reliable lunch in the wine country because the hours are actually published.
- Open daily 11:00–20:00 (the winery announced the change to these hours itself).
- A cooking class with the kitchen team runs about 3½ hours at 1,800 baht net per person, minimum four, booked well ahead.
- The estate does not allow grape picking, so treat the orchards as scenery rather than an activity.
- About 74 km from the villa, roughly 1 h 10 – 1 h 15 by car.
Green Me Organic Farm
A certified organic farm of about 28 rai near Pak Chong with a café, farm shop and farm tours. Its own words: "Every dish is a celebration of the 'Farm to Table' philosophy made with fresh, chemical-free ingredients grown right here on our farm." It is also the only place in this guide where you harvest anything yourself — the farm tour has guests collecting eggs, picking vegetables and feeding the animals.
- Closed on Wednesdays; the farm opens every other day.
- Café hours and tour prices are not published — book on 089 926 6535 (Thai) or 098-459-4592 (English).
- The farm shop sells its own melons, squash and tomatoes, so bring a cool bag.
Farm Chokchai and Umm Milk
A working dairy on the Mittraphap road corridor, and the closest of the Pak Chong-side visits. Milk is processed on site within 24 hours of milking, and the group's burger outlet is built on the farm's own beef and dairy.
- Chokchai Steakhouse: daily 09:00–20:00, table reservations 086-328-0189.
- Chokchai Burger: daily 09:00–18:00.
- Talon Farm, the self-drive farm visit: Mon–Fri 09:00–17:00, weekends and public holidays 09:00–17:30; 150 baht per adult, 70 baht per child 90–140 cm.
- The cowboy show runs at 11:00, 13:00 and 15:00 on weekends and public holidays only, free of charge.
- About 70 km from the villa, roughly an hour by car.
Dairy Home
An organic dairy registered as a social enterprise, with its own milk plant, farm shop and two restaurants between Muak Lek and Pak Chong. Organic pasteurised milk, set and Greek yoghurt, butter and bread are made and sold on site, and plant or demonstration-farm visits are arranged by appointment. Opening hours are not published anywhere on its site — call the restaurant on 081-991-0271 before you set out.
Two rules that save a wasted drive
- Assume you need to book. Only PB Valley's restaurant and the Farm Chokchai outlets publish hours; everywhere else, the phone is the schedule.
- Weekends fill. Bangkok arrives on Friday evening, and the estates that do take reservations recommend them specifically for Friday, Saturday and public holidays.
Driving times are approximate, by car, outside peak traffic and with no stops; they come from OpenStreetMap-based routing, not from measured journeys. Add time for the queue at a national-park checkpoint.
